Function: The central oxygen supply system will decompress the high pressure oxygen to low pressure oxygen, distributing it to each gas outlet. After the oxygen flowmeter is inserted to the outlet, it will adjust the oxygen flow to a suitable level by turning its flow switch, and then the oxygen will be supplied to patients through humidifiers.                                                                                                                         Structure: The oxygen flowmeter consists of an adapter, body, a flow tube, a flow control switch and a humidifier.

The adapter is an important part of the oxygen flowmeter. Only when it matches with the corresponding gas outlet, it can be used. So it is very important to choose an adapter.
The adapter of the central gas outlet has no unified standard. Now it mainly has the standards of Japan, America, German, France, Italy, Australia, Switzerland, ect. Most countries follow these main standards for some historical, cultural and geographic reasons. There is no corresponding manufacturing standard in China. At the beginning, various standards made by each company were widely used. But nowadays we mainly use the standards of Japan, German, Britain and America. Due to the different skills, most companies may produce unstandard products which have bad compatibility and cause mismatching.
